The Bengals have re-signed 26-year old OT Anthony Collins.  Collins played in 7 games (2 starts) for the Bengals last year.  He has now played in 39 games (18 starts) in his first four years with the Bengals.  This was a good move for the Bengals as Collins will give them depth at tackle in 2012.

The Cincinnati Bengals re-sign CB Adam “Pac Man” Jones

The Bengals have re-signed 28-year old Pac Man Jones.  Jones played in 8 games for the Bengals last year and he had 28 tackles, 6 passes defensed and 1 tackle for a loss.  He also returned 2 punts for 67 yards (33.5 avg) last year.  Jones has now played in 13 games in his first two years with the Bengals and he has 42 tackles, 9 passes defensed, 1 interception, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 forced fumble and 2 fumble recoveries.  Jones also has returned 7 punts for 100 yards (14.3 avg) and 7 kickoffs for 122 yards (17.4 avg) so far for the Bengals.  This was a good move for the Bengals as Jones has been a solid player for them and he is behaving away from the field.

The Cincinnati Bengals sign RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis

The Bengals have signed 26-year old RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis to a 3-year deal.  Green-Ellis played in all 16 games for the Patriots last year and he carried the ball 181 times for 667 yards (3.7 ypc) with 11 TD runs.  He also caught 9 passes for 159 yards (17.7 avg) last year for the Patriots.  He has now played in 53 games in his first four years in the NFL and he has carried the ball 510 times for 2,064 yards (4.0 ypc) with 29 TD runs.  Green-Ellis has also caught 26 passes for 292 yards (11.2 avg) so far in his NFL career.  Green-Ellis’ addition has ended Cedric Benson’s time in Cincinnati.

The Bengals have re-signed 28-year old safety Reggie Nelson.  Nelson played in all 16 games for the Bengals last year and he had 85 tackles, 2 sacks, 4 interceptions (one returned for a TD), 12 passes defensed, 2 tackles for a loss and 2 forced fumbles.  Nelson has now played in 32 games in his first two years with the Bengals and he has 139 tackles, 6 interceptions (0ne returned for a TD), 19 passes defensed, 2 tackles for a loss and 4 forced fumbles.  This was a good move for the Bengals as Nelson was rock solid at the back end of the D for them the last couple of years.

The Bengals have signed 28-year old CB Jason Allen to a 2-year, $8.2 million dollar deal.  Allen played in all 16 games for the Texans last year and he had 45 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 4 interceptions and 11 passes defensed.  He has now played in 94 games in his first six years in the NFL and he has 244 tackles, 34 passes defensed, 15 interceptions, 2 tackles for a loss, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery.  This was a good move for the Bengals as Allen will help them tighten up the secondary a bit in 2012.

The Bengals have signed 30-year old OG Travelle Wharton to a 3-year, $10 million dollar deal.  Wharton played in 16 games (all starts) for the Panthers last year.  He has now played in 99 games (all starts) in his first 8 years in the NFL.  This was a good move for the Bengals as Wharton will likely replace Nate Livings in the starting lineup, as he left the team in free agency.

The Bengals have re-signed 24-year old safety Jeromy Miles.  Miles played in all 16 games for the Bengals last year and he had 16 tackles.  He has now played in 22 games in his first two years with the Bengals and he has 20 tackles.  The Bengals brought back Miles to help out on special teams while providing depth in the secondary in 2012.

The Bengals have re-signed 26-year old DT Nick Harden.  Harden played in 2 games for the Bengals last year and he had 2 tackles.  Harden has now played in 28 games in his first four years in the NFL and he has 53 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss and 1 pass defensed.  This was a nice move for the Bengals to give them some depth on the interior of the D-Line.

The Bengals have re-signed 24-year old LB Vincent Rey.  Rey played in all 16 games for the Bengals last year and he had 6 tackles.  Rey has now played in 18 games in his first two years with the Bengals and he has 9 tackles.  It was smart of the Bengals to bring back Rey for 2012 as he will provide cheap depth (money wise) at LB.

The Bengals have re-signed 25-year old RB Cedric Peerman.  Peerman played in 15 games for the Bengals last year and he carried the ball 3 times for 15 yards (5.0 ypc).  He also had 13 tackles last year for the Bengals.  Peerman has now played in 22 games in his first two years with the Bengals and he has carried the ball 5 times for 16 yards (3.2 ypc).  Peerman has also caught 1 pass for 11 yards and he has 20 tackles for the Bengals.  Peerman could see increased work for the Bengals offensively in 2012, but they brought him back for his work on special teams.
