The Bengals were up 7-3 at the half and they hung in there for a while before the Jets pulled away.  The Bengals failed on special teams in this game as Brad Smith of the Jets returned a kickoff 89 yards for a TD right after the Bengals had cut the lead to 17-10.  Andre Caldwell also had a punt barely hit him and it was recovered deep in Bengals’ territory and the result was a TD.  The offense was also awful for the Bengals putting way too much pressure on a D that actually played pretty well last night.  Carson Palmer was awful in this game as he completed 17 of 38 passes for 135 yards with 1 TD pass and 2 INTs.  Cedric Benson had a tough night with 41 yards rushing on 18 carries (2.3 ypc).  WRs Chad Ocho Cinco (4 rec, 41 yards), Jordan Shipley (5 rec, 38 yards, TD) and Terrell Owens (3 rec, 17 yards) all had long nights for the Bengals.  The Bengals finished up with 46 yards rushing on 20 carries (2.3 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 39 passes for 117 yards as they only had the ball for 26:31.

LBs Dhani Jones (11 tackles), Keith Rivers (9 tackles) and Rey Maualuga (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception) led the way for the Bengals’ D yesterday.  Rookie DE Carlos Dunlap also came to play in this game as he finished up with 3 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks and 2 QB hits.  The Jets finished up with 170 yards rushing on 37 carries (4.6 ypc) and they also completed 16 of 28 passes for 149 yards.  The Bengals are now 2-9 on the year.

The Bengals rushed out to a 31-14 lead in this game before the roof caved in on them in the second half when they were outscored 35-0.  This is bad coaching as Marvin Lewis needed to keep his team hungry for the second half and it just didn’t happen.  Carson Palmer completed 19 of 34 passes for 230 yards with 2 TD passes and 2 INTs.  He also carried the ball 2 times for 12 yards (6.0 ypc) in this game.  Jordan Palmer finished up this game in garbage time and he completed 3 of 3 passes for 18 yards.  Cedric Benson carried the ball 25 times for 124 yards (5.0 ypc) with 1 TD run and also caught 3 passes for 22 yards (7.3 avg).  But, Benson also lost a fumble that was returned 27 yards for a TD by CB Drayton Florence of the Bills.  WRs Jordan Shipley (5 rec, 71 yards), Terrell Owens (3 rec, 63 yards, TD) and Chad Ocho Cinco (3 rec, 28 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game for the Bengals yesterday.  The Bengals finished up with 133 yards rushing on 30 carries (4.4 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 37 passes for 228 yards in this game.

The Bengals sucked on defense yesterday plain and simple.  LBs Dhani Jones (8 tackles) and Keith Rivers (6 tackles) led the way for the Bengals’ “D” yesterday.  CB Jonathan Joseph (2 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 2 interceptions, one of which he returned 21 yards for a TD) also had a decent game.  The Bills finished up with 141 yards rushing on 25 carries (5.6 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 34 passes for 308 yards.  The Bengals are now a awful 2-8 on the year.

The Bengals turned the ball over five times in this game which ruined a simply outstanding effort from their defense!  Carson Palmer completed 31 of 42 passes for 292 yards with 2 TD passes and 3 INTs (one was returned 31-yards for a TD by Colts’ CB Kelvin Hayden).  Cedric Benson got stuffed all day long by the Colts’ D as he had 24 yards rushing on 14 carries (1.7 ypc).  He also caught 5 passes for 27 yards (5.4 avg) and he lost a fumble.  Brian Leonard only had 1 carry in this game but it went for a cool 42 yards.  He also caught 2 passes for 8 yards (4.0 avg) in this game.  Chad Ocho Cinco led the way in the passing game for the Bengals today with 7 grabs for 86 yards (12.3 avg) with a TD grab.  Rookie TE Jermaine Gresham pitched in with 9 grabs for 85 yards (9.4 avg) with a TD grab but he also lost a fumble.  Terrell Owens pitched in with 4 grabs for 64 yards (16.0 avg) in this game.  The Bengals finished up with 72 yards rushing on 20 carries (3.6 ypc) and they also completed 31 of 42 passes for 269 yards as they had possession of the ball for 34:11.

LB Dhani Jones (13 tackles) and safety Rico Murray (10 tackles, 2 passes defensed) led a outstanding effort by the Bengals’ D.  The Colts finished up with 76 yards rushing on 22 carries (3.5 ypc) and they also completed 20 of 36 passes for 180 yards.  The Bengals are now a very disappointing 2-7 on the season.

The Bengals screwed up early in this game when Bernard Scott lost a fumble on the opening kickoff (resulted in a Steelers’ TD) and the Steelers blocked a punt on the Bengals’ second possession which resulted in a field goal for the Steelers.  The Bengals were down 10-0 in this game before they could catch their breath.  The Bengals also had even more special teams problems in this game as Mike Nugent missed two field goals.  Carson Palmer gave it the old college try last night as he completed 22 of 36 passes for 248 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 INT.  Cedric Benson pitched in with 54 yards rushing on 18 tough carries and he also caught 2 passes for 20 yards.  Terrell Owens had a monster game for the Bengals last night when he caught 10 passes for 141 yards (14.1 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  Jordan Shipley had 4 grabs for 47 yards (11.8 avg) but he couldn’t hold onto a pass on 4th and 5 last night deep in the Steelers’ territory late in the game.  Chad Ocho Cinco only caught 1 pass for 15 yards last night.  The Bengals finished up with 54 yards rushing on 18 carries (3.0 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 36 passes for 218 yards.

LB Dhani Jones (9 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) and DT Pat Sims (6 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) led the way for the Bengals’ D last night.  Safety Roy Williams pitched in with 3 tackles, 1 pass defensed, 1 interception and a fumble recovery.  The Steelers finished up with 121 yards rushing on 32 carries (3.8 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 28 passes for 193 yards.  The Bengals are now 2-6 on the season as they now find themselves in last place in the AFC North.

The Bengals looked uninterested yesterday as the Dolphins took the fight to them.  Carson Palmer was pretty bad yesterday as he completed 17 of 38 passes for 156 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 INT.  One of his TDs to Terrell Owens should have been intercepted by the Dolphins.  Palmer also carried the ball 3 times for 13 yards (4.3 ypc) in this game.  Cedric Benson carried the ball 20 times for 69 yards (3.5 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 12 yards (4.0 avg) against the Fins.  Bernard Scott carried the ball 2 times for 22 yards (11.0 ypc) yesterday.  In the passing game, Terrell Owens led the way for the Bengals yesterday with 5 grabs for 65 yards (13.0 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  The Bengals finished up with 106 yards on 26 carries (4.1 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 38 passes for 156 yards as they only had possession of the ball for 26:31.

The Bengals only gave up 1 TD yesterday but they still gave up a lot of yards.  CB Morgan Trent led the way for the Bengals yesterday with 11 tackles and 1 pass defensed.  LB Rey Maualuga (9 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) and safety Reggie Nelson (6 tackles) also had decent games for the Bengals on D yesterday.  The Dolphins finished up with 137 yards rushing on 31 carries (4.4 ypc) and they also completed 24 of 37 passes for 217 yards.  The Bengals are now 2-5 on the year.
