The Bengals have signed 29-year old QB J.T. O’Sullivan to back up Carson Palmer.  O’Sullivan is not much of an upgrade over the departed Ryan Fitzpatrick who signed with the Bills.  O’Sullivan played in 9 games for the 49ers last season and he completed 128 of 220 passes (58.2%) for 1,678 yards with 8 TD passes and 11 interceptions (73.6 QB Rating).  He also carried the football 30 times for 145 yards (4.8 ypc) last season.  Bengals’ fans better keep their fingers crossed that Carson Palmer can start all 16 games next season!  O’Sullivan has now played in 14 games in his NFL career and he has completed 141 of 246 passes (57.3%) for 1,826 yards with 9 TD passes and 13 interceptions (71.0 QB Rating).  He has also carried the football 36 times for 133 yards (3.7 ypc) in his career.  The Bengals should have picked a better QB to backup a gimpy Carson Palmer in 2009.
