The Cincinnati Bengals re-sign linebacker Caleb Miller

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Bengals Talk by dawgpounded on Tuesday 24 April 2007 at 9:49 pm

The Bengals have re-signed linebacker Caleb Miller to a new 1-year contract.  He played in all 16 games for the Bengals last season and he made 99 tackles, had 1 sack, defensed 3 passes, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.  Miller is a little on the small side at 6’3″, 225 pounds.  But, you can’t judge a man’s heart and Miller plays hard on every down.

The Cincinnati Bengals re-sign OT Stacey Andrews

The Bengals have re-signed OT Stacey Andrews to a 1-year contract.  He played in all 16 games for the Bengals last season and he started 3 of them.  The Bengals love Andrews’ size as he’s 6’7″, 342 pounds and he will be a quality reserve for the Bengals this season.

The Cincinnati Bengals re-sign linebacker Landon Johnson

The Bengals have re-signed Landon Johnson.  He has moved up the depth chart over his career with the Bengals with his fine play on the field.  He also isn’t a trouble maker off of the field and that’s strange seeing how he plays for the Bengals.  He played in all 16 games last year and he made 112 tackles, had 1/2 a sack, 1 interception, defensed 4 passes and forced 3 fumbles.

The Cincinnati Bengals sign DT Michael Myers

This Michael Myers is not the killer from “Halloween” but the defensive tackle who played last season for the Denver Broncos.  He played all 16 games for them and he made 57 tackles, had 2 sacks, defensed 2 passes, forced a fumble and recovered 2 fumbles.  He might start for the Bengals or be part of the D-Line rotation.

The Cincinnati Bengals are on the clock…………..

I have conducted a complete 7 round draft for every team in the NFL.  If you want to see what I have projected for any other team in the NFL, click on the team name in the right hand margin and go to the team’s Draft Report page if you don’t see the article on the front page of the site.  This was a lot of work so I hope you enjoy it.

Look for the Cincinnati Bengals to go with the best player available as they believe they already have a good football team.  Here is who I think the Bengals are going to wind up drafting:

1. (18)  Aaron Ross, CB, Texas

2. (49)  Ikaika Alama Francis, DE, Hawaii

4. (114)  Doug Datish, C, Ohio State

5. (151)  Jordan Palmer, QB, UTEP

6. (187)  Corey Graham, CB, New Hampshire

7. (230)  Laurent Robinson, WR, Illinois State

7. (253)  Kevin McLee, MLB, West Virginia

The Bengals probably would be upset if the draft went this way, but it doesn’t look like they are in a good spot to get what they want.

The NFL suspends Bengals receiver Chris Henry for the first 8 games of the 2007 season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking Bengals News,Front Page,General Bengals Talk by dawgpounded on Thursday 12 April 2007 at 10:21 am

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell lowered the boom on WR Chris Henry of the Bengals by suspending him for half of the 2007 season without pay.  The new NFL commish is going to be very tough on off-field conduct that stains the league’s image and that’s a good thing overall.  The Bengals will have to re-evaluate their drafting methods as they’ve been taking players with great talent that have slipped in the draft because of character issues and that will be dangerous to do from here on out.

Henry is troubled off of the field, but he’s an outstanding football player.  He played in 13 games (4 starts) last season and he caught 36 passes for 605 yards (16.8 avg) with 9 TD grabs.  The Bengals might have to draft a WR to cover against Henry’s further off-the-field problems.

The Cincinnati Bengals re-sign CB Greg Brooks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Bengals Talk by dawgpounded on Thursday 5 April 2007 at 2:10 pm

The Bengals have re-signed cornerback Greg Brooks.  Brooks only played in 5 games last season for the Bengals and only made 1 tackle.  He’s played in the NFL 3 seasons now and he’s played in 16 games and has made 9 tackles.
